Lentils and Sausage
Want a great backpacking meal that’s easy? This is one of my favorites! This packs in easy, cooks fast and makes your fellow campers jealous!
2 tablespoons olive oil.
1 cup dry Lentils.
Cubed summer sausage, sliced and cubed.
1 carrot, chopped.
2 stalks celery (including leafy green tops), chopped.
1 small onion, chopped.
1 small clove garlic, minced.
Salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste
( I always bring in some Thai Chilli Paste 🤙 🔥)
Bring your water to a boil and add oil, lentils, chopped veggies, salt and pepper, reduce to simmer on fire and will cook in about 25 minutes) lentils will thicken, stir in summer sausage and add hot 🌶 sauce/ more pepper to taste.
A little green pepper also is a good add in! 🍴
